Alex Willhouse, JD, LLM, is consulting as a Law and Policy Analyst at the Center for Public Health Law Research (CPHLR). His role involves researching and coding legal datasets pertaining to a variety of public health topics.
Before joining CPHLR as an analyst, Alex was a long-term intern with the Center, during which time he contributed to an array of projects addressing topics such as syringe services programs, public health authority, prescribing limits for ADHD medications, and access to medications for opioid use disorder in correctional facilities during the COVID-19 pandemic. Prior to attending law school, Alex worked as a biochemist at Temple’s Lewis Katz School of Medicine, where his research focused on opioid receptor pharmacology. In his current role, Alex works to harmonize his background in biomedical science with his legal training in order to create scientifically rigorous, evidence-based legal data.
Alex completed his JD at Drexel’s Thomas R. Kline School of Law, where he also completed an LLM in Data Privacy Law.
