The APHA Law Section awarded Public Health Law Research program grantees and others at a reception on November 2, 2015 at the 2015 APHA Annual Meeting in Chicago. The PHLR grantees who were recognized include: Y. Tony Yang, ScD, MPH, Jonathan Purtle, DrPH, MPH, MSc, Laine Rutkow, JD, PhD, and Shannon Fratteroli, PhD, MPH.

Abstract of the Year (tie):
Natasha Frost, Julie Ralston Aoki. Using child care regulations as a policy lever for promoting healthy food and physical activity in out-of-school time settings
Jonathan Purtle, Robert Field, Esther Chernak, Tom Hipper, Jillian Nash Arot, Exploring the impacts of public health laws on syndromic disease surveillance practices in the United States
